| Sat., 12/15 | Hartford Public Duals | Away - HPHS | The MLC Dragons competed in their first meet of the season on Saturday 12/15 at Hartford Public High School. The boys and girls dragons put up many outstanding performances. The team displayed a grit, teamwork and a support for each of their teammates. Many of the student athletes are first time high school track and field participants, and really made their mark this past Saturday. As well as two freshman qualified for states. A’jah Canty qualified in the 300 meters with an outstanding time of 46.36. Her teammate Malia Wilson also qualifying in the 300 meters with an outstanding time of 46.37. A’jah Canty also competed in the 600 meters running a personal best of 1:56.29. A’jah was also a crucial piece in the girls 4x200m along with her teammates Malia Wilson, Junior; Rachel Gordon, and Senior Jaida Long. The girls also competed in the sprint medley relay composed of Junior, Rachel Gordon, Freshman, Zadia Kellier, Sophmore, Trenyce Taylor, and Freshman Mali Ayala. The girls ultimately had an amazing first competitive meet, and many personal bests were achieved. We look forward to many more to come in this exciting season. | |||
